About Jennifer

I have an M.S. in communication disorders and, before pursuing motherhood full time, worked as a speech-language pathologist with special needs preschoolers. I also enjoyed making up games to play with elementary students, which helped their speech issues disappear while they had fun.

Since blessed with task of motherhood a decade ago, life has changed a great deal in the Dyer household. God blessed hubby and I with two wonderful daughters, the youngest of whom is autistic. As a former perfectionist, I have had to let go of my hardcore expectations and learn to laugh at messes, even the ones I make myself. Every day brings new challenges, and God always teaches me something new.

Through motherhood, I have earned my Ph.D. in poop clean-up, a dog-walker’s certificate, a laughter license, the titles “Queen of the Laundry Pile,” “Dish-Doer Extraordinaire,” and most importantly: “Mommy.” I am also a cancer survivor and am thankful for the extension I have been granted on my life.

When not carpooling with my Labrador/Greyhound mix sidekick, cleaning up messes, and chasing children, I love to read, write, and bake. I even remember to cook a meal occasionally that isn’t a frozen pizza. And I love to laugh.

Most of all, I want to point others to the loving arms of the most perfect and awesome creator andĀ sustainerĀ of all life: Jesus, who doesn’t require us to be perfect. Like a loving mother, He waits for us with open arms and will patch all our boo boos. All we have to do is ask.
